NATIONAL OIL COMPANY (NOC) INAGURATED A NEW PETROLEUM FILLING STATION

The leading Businessman and the owner of MIDROC Ethiopia, Sheik Mohammed Hussein Ali Al-Amoudi, has continued providing significant contribution to the economic growth of our country. In line with this National Oil Company, the newly joined MIDROC Group Company, has officially inaugurated 11 petroleum filling station in Addis Ababa and other towns on November 23, 2004.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the four stations in Kerra, Kaliti, Debre zeit and Nazareth. Present at the inauguration ceremony were, H.E. Ato Hassen Abedela Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, H.E. Ato Fantaye Biftu Trade and Industry State Minister, Our Chairman Sheik Mohammed Hussein Ali Al-Amoudi, Dr. Arega Yirdaw, MIDROC Ethiopia Chief Executive Officer, Ato Wolderuphael W. Giorgis, Assistant Chief Executive Officer, and higher officials of MIDROC Group sister companies.

Sheik Mohammed Hussein Ali Al-Amoudi established the National Oil Company of Ethiopia (NOC) with other two shareholders namely Ato Abenet G/Meskel and Ato Tadesse Tilahun with a capital of 100 million Birr.

National Oil Company intends to construct 120 filling stations as well as a depot with a capacity of 20 million liters. NOC plans to control 15% of the market share within the coming Ethiopian year. When all the 120 stations are completed its employment opportunity will rise to 10,000 temporary and 4,000 permanent employees.
