One of the most significant contributions of the Office of the Chief Executive Officer, MIDROC Ethiopia, to the growth of modern management system in the country is its practical engagement in the implementation of the principles of Corporate Citizenship. Such a social responsibility is manifested both internally and externally through different activities.

MIDROC Gold Mine PLC is actively participating in the activities of the Corporate Intervention Team on HIV/AIDS (CIT), which has been organized under the Office of the CEO, MIDROC Ethiopia, to prevent and control the spread of HIV Virus among the employees of the MIDROC Ethiopia Technology Group Companies and their family members, which are part of the large society.

The company is also involved in different social responsibility activities. It is concerned with taking care of the environment and has put in place Environmental Management System to maintain acceptable environmental standards in the industry and comply with government obligations. The Company also gets involved with the community around its operations, which involve various activities such as supply of drinking water, road constructions, sanitations, different assistances to religious and government institutions, and the like.

MIDROC Gold mine is a member of different Business Associations such as Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Ethiopian Employers' Federation; and Humanitarian and other Associations such as Ethiopian Mental Health Society, Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia, and Green & Clean Addis Ababa Association.
