Trans Nation Airways PLC (TNA), a
member of the MIDROC Ethiopia Technology-Group,
is organized under the Office of the
Chief Executive Officer of MIDROC
Ethiopia and is lead by a General
Manager, directly reporting to the
CEO. The Airline is run by a highly
qualified management group possessing
extensive academic and technical training
and experience ranging up to 30 years
in the field of commercial aviation.
The company has one Operation Unit:
the Flight Operations andTechnical
Services; and two major Service Units;
all of which are managed by qualified
managers endowed with rich experience,
and geared up for company future growth.
In order to maintain a modern and
effective management system, the Company's
Management has introduced and put
into practice different Policies and
Procedures. Among these are:
- Human Resources Services Policy
and Procedure Manual (HRSPM)
- Financial Services Policy and
Procedure Manual (FSPM)
- Materials Management Services
Policy and Procedure manual (MMSPM)
- Organizational Structure Manual
(OSM)
- Protection Services Policy and
Procedure Manual (PSPM)
- Educational Policy
- HIV/AIDS Policy Manual
All Policy and Procedure Manuals
are subject to change and hence nearly
80 directives have been released to
improve the policies. |

The
business purposes of the Company are to engage in the
following activities where the Ethiopian laws permit.

to provide domestic and international passengers
air transport services.

to provide domestic and international cargo air
transport services.

to provide a combined passengers and cargo air
transport services whenever it is necessary.

to rent and buy service airplanes or form a partnership
with other airlines.

to provide services for air ambulance, air mining
activities, air geology survey, search for resource,
electric line control and also charter aircrafts
and helicopters.

to provide maintenance services for the Company's
aircrafts.

to engage in any other related activities necessary
for the attainment of its purposes.

to participate in promoting air transport services
for domestic products export, tourism and recreational
services related to aviation industry.

Currently, TNA is undertaking lease and charter operations,
locally and internationally. The two Dash-8-200Q Aircrafts
are fully occupied. ET-AKZ is leased to Trans ATTICO
of Sudan and ET-ALX is leased to Rwandair Express in
Kigali, Rwanda. The aircrafts are leased for a minimum
of 100 block hours each per month, but can fly up to
150 block hours if lessee requires.
One of the Turbo-Thrush aircrafts, ET-AKN is now in
West Africa and is being flown to Addis Ababa after
having completed a spray mission against locust breakout.
ET-AKO, another Turbo-Thrush, is now in Addis Ababa,
being readied for agro-spray activity in Sudan, and
possibly in Botswana. |

Full utilization of the present Dash-8-200 and
Turbo Thrush Aircraft.

Lease or lease/purchase from smaller Aircraft (19
seats) to cater for local requirement and lease
both Dash-8-200 Aircraft for International Operations.

Lease or lease/purchase large cargo Aircraft to
cater to the growing air freight market.
-
Operate scheduled domestic services when the opportunity
is created.

Currently, TNA employs 31 permanent employees. The
Airways has highly qualified pilots, technicians, and
cabin crew personnel who are trained locally & internationally.
The Pilots have over 10,000 hours of Airline Flight
experience and are of B-767-300, B-727, B-737 and Dash-8-200
type ratings.
The Aircraft Technicians are of many years of Airline
Maintenance experience and possess, like that of the
pilots, B-767/757, B-707, B-727, B-737 and Dash-8-200
type ratings. They all are capable of accomplishing
all tasks required by Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority
Maintenance Program and perform 100% line maintenance
in the Dash-8-200 Aircraft.
The Cabin Crew are trained on the Dash-8-200 aircraft
emergency procedure and general cabin service requirement.
Invariably, all of them have work experience ranging
between 5-7 years. One of them is an Instructor and
has been engaged in the training of cabin crew of other
airlines in Africa in addition to her flight hostess
duties.
The above personnel qualifications have enabled TNA
to render the safest and most reliable services to its
customers and the traveling public at large. |
