Wanza Furnishings Industry PLC is organized
under the Office of the Chief Executive
Officer of MIDROC Ethiopia, and is lead
by a General Manager, directly reporting
to the CEO. The company has three Operation
Units: Manufacturing Operations, Jimma Operations
and Awassa Operations, and five major Service
Units, all of which are managed by qualified
managers endowed with rich experience, and
geared up for company future growth.
In order to facilitate an effective management
of the company, the Management has placed
different Policies and Procedures into practice.
Among these are:
- Human Resources Services Policy and
Procedure Manual (HRSPM)
- Financial Services Policy and Procedure
Manual (FSPM)
- Materials Management Services Policy
and Procedure manual (MMSPM)
- Organizational Structure Manual (OSM)
- Collective Agreement
- Protection Services Policy and Procedure
Manual (PSPM)
- Educational Policy
- HIV/AIDS Policy Manual
All Policy and Procedure Manuals are subject
to change and hence nearly 80 directives
have been released to improve the policies. |

The
company is established to accomplish the following business
purposes:

Manufacture special quality wooden and metal furniture
and fixture and supply to both the domestic and
export markets on retail and wholesale basis.

Engage in production and marketing of quality
wooden and metal doors, windows, panel, floor, beam,
frame, parquet and the like for construction purposes.

Perform impregnation activities.
-
Import all essential materials, machinery, equipment,
vehicles and spare parts necessary to carryon the
activities of the company.

Develop and process and/or procure inputs necessary
for production.

Jointly work with similar foreign or domestic
companies; and represent foreign or domestic companies
as an agent.

Provide consultancy, installation, after-sales
and similar services relating to the products supplied
by the company.

Engage in rejuvenating and restoring of obsolete
furniture and fixtures.

Engage in any other related business activities
which the company may find relevant to enhance the
above-mentioned business purposes.
- Import semi-finished & finished products and
distribute to the customer.

Currently, Wanza Furnishings Industry PLC is engaged
in manufacturing and selling of different types of furniture
and fixtures.
The company has production facilities in its Addis
Ababa Manufacturing Operations, Awassa Operations, and
Jimma Operations with total land holding areas of 22,000
sq. meters, 60,000 sq. meters and 100,000 sq. meters
respectively. It also has a new and modern Showroom
in its Main Office. |

| The
future growth strategies of the company focus on product
diversification and market development. The company is
intending to improve the existing products, expand its
present market and enter into a new market segment with
new products.
In addition, WANZA is planning to be engaged widely
in providing Services, such as renovations, assembling
and parquet flooring services. |

Presently, Wanza Furnishings Industry PLC employs a
total number of 319 employees, of whom 267 are permanent
and 29 are on contract basis. The remaining 25 are secondment
employees from Trust Protection & Personnel Services
PLC. |
